How Much Money Animal Adventure Park (April Giraffe) Make On YouTube

(Last Updated On: April 4, 2017)

Animal Adventure Park is the YouTube channel famous for doing daily livestreams of a pregnant giraffe named April making her an internet sensation on different social media platforms. The stream of her inside her pen is able to attract over 100,000 viewers watching the stream at any given moment. Animal Adventure Park is located in Harpursville New York.

How Much Money Does Animal Adventure Park Earn On YouTube?

The channel has over 350,000 subscribers and is able to attract over 3.4 million views per day from different sources and places. This should be able to generate an estimated revenue of around $7,000 per day from the ads that appear on the streams and videos.

YouTubers get paid between $2 – $5 per 1000 monetized views after YouTube takes its cut. Monetized views range from 40% – 60% of the total views. All these are influenced by different factors like device played on, location of the viewer, ad inventory, how many ads there are on a video, how many people skip the ads, ad engagement etc. There is also a program known as Google Preferred where deep pocketed companies can target ads on the top 5%  most popular content. The ad rates here are higher than normal.

The stream of April the giraffe gets sponsors outside YouTube. At the start it was sponsored by Mazur, an exotic animal nutrition company, but after the deal ended ToysRus took over an signed a new deal worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The livestream also has a feature called Super Chat on the live comment section whereby the creator can earn money when fans purchase higher visibility chat messages which get pinned at the top of the chat for a specific amount of time depending on the amount paid. Adventure Animals would receive all of the money less 5% + $0.21 which covers the cost of processing the transaction. Currently each of their long livestreams generate between $10,000 – $50,000 from the SuperChat feature whenever its on. The live comment section can be turned on and off.

Another source of income that they created was through a GoFund Me page that was created because of the huge demand by people wanting to support the giraffe. It has not raised over $90,000 in a period of 1 month.

They haven’t received a dime of advertising revenue from me, and probably most smart surfers that choose to block ads. I’ve never seen a single ad on Youtube’s live stream. Regular videos, I still see many ads, but not with live streaming. So I’d guess your estimate is a little off there.

    • Freedom

Chris if you want to see real live streaming go to a link called Kruger Sightings,to see animals in their natural habitat. Not caged or in pens.

  • Traci Johnson

Good for them, I hope they make millions! They deserve it after putting up with all the bullshit.

    • Freedom

Oh yes it may be great to look at any wild animal in a pen where they have limited space to move around in,they should be outside where they can function as they were intended to do in the wild. Those pens are to them what a jail cell is to a prisoner.

      • Rita Yarlett

And again Freedom, if you were truly aware of what was happening at AAP during the live feeds, April was given daily opportunity (weather permitting) to venture outside….. where she CHOSE NOT TO GO….. When that opportunity wasn’t forthcoming it was because there was either SNOW or ICE on the ground outside and in fact presented a DANGER to the April. I admire and am envious of your role you have played in Africa, but don’t presume to know things at AAP, because you clearly have no idea what their motivation and/or intent is.

        • Freedom

+Rita Yarlett,I would really appreciate it if could enlighten me as to what the role of AAP is,as I have no knowledge of this group.I would be interested to know what their purpose, motivation and intent is.

          • Rita Yarlett

Freedom, Just that fact alone that you think it is a group proves you are ignorant of the facts of what the live feed was about. AAP, for your information is Animal Adventure Park. Please do your own research. Jordan is more than open and honest on all his public forums as to what the Park’s purpose, motivation and intent is 😀 Enjoy your day.

          • Freedom

Rita Yarlett you are a ray of sunshine. All I asked was for info on AAP,as when I saw the video it was the first time I heard of AAP.Had you done that I would probably have given a handsome donation, but lost to you now because of your bitchiness,as I do donate very much to wildlife sanctuaries in my own country and abroad, for the Panda,Grizzly Bear,Tiger and Orangutan in Sumatra. As well as Gorillas and Chimps. All that was needed was a simple explanation of what AAPs function is.But I don’t and won’t do research on your Park,I have better things to do.

          • Rita Yarlett

Freedom, my apologies if you found my response rude, that was not my intention. But am over the fact that people such as yourself make rash and incorrect assumptions just because you see something you don’t like. You have spent time stating negative comments that could have been better spent it researching what the park actually does do. In a Utopian world parks like this would indeed not be necessary, but sadly the world is not perfect and it is parks like AAP that increase awareness of the plight of endangered and vulnerable species, and uses money raised by such efforts as the live cam to donate to conservation funds.

          • Freedom

For one last time how could I research AAP if I did not know or even heard of them.As for your comments they were rude and uncalled for.So I will not comment or ask for any info again.I will donate my money to worthy causes,to those I know will appreciate it.I am done with anything that has the initials AAP goodbye.

          • Rita Yarlett

Do you know what article you are even reading????? AAP = Animal Adventure Park – the very Park you are knocking for having the live stream of April the Giraffe… smh. The very organisation on whose thread you are commenting on…..

          • Freedom

No I don’t know what article I am even reading as I haven’t read it,and don’t intend to.Your assumption is that I am knocking AAP,how can I knock something I have never heard of ?Can you even read,or are you just trying to come across as a dithering idiot.Read the above comment .I got your comments via Discus. So I was taken aback by your disgusting
comments.I received your and other comments after I posted how I dislike to see animals in pens and cages ,I had no idea till I got your and bjkfinn comments who or what you are.Now I do know and I don’t like what I see or hear from supposed members.Had the shoe been on the other foot I would have been very forthcoming with any info you required, but then I am thankfully not British,a nation where you give a finger they want your arm.Now please leave me alone I have nothing more to say to idiots of the British kind.As I said before I have more pressing matters to attend to than to take note of the garbage you spew.

          • Rita Yarlett

So you just make random comments on things, making statements without even knowing what the thread is about. And by the way, I am NOT British. Given that the thread is regarding the park, any comments you make are implying your comments are about this park. And again, you know nothing about them….. I am having too much fun spewing factual garbage that I educated myself on, and researched rather than making warrior like comments on anything I see, just because it’s how I feel, without any knowledge on what it is you are even commenting on bahahahaha

          • Freedom

No,no random comments, speaking from experience do you have any I doubt it very much.By the way you are promoting AAP,i surprises me yo have any sponsors at all.You are not only rude and obnoxious you think you know it all.Yes my comments are about the park if you say so I really couldn’t care less.As for you spewing factual garbage, and educated yourself , that is exactly what it is GARBAGE you know nothing, making warrior comments is just up your street,I know what I see at AAP,I don’t like it,just because that IS how I feel.My knowledge of Giraffe is very advanced unlike yours. As for you not being British ,I really don’t give a damn what you are,all I know is you are an uncouth vile woman now please leave me alone as I have nothing more to say to you,in plain English go drown yourself.GOODBYE.

          • Rita Yarlett

BAHAHAHAHAHAH, At least I don’t make personal attacks on you to end your life, I think that is the epitome of uncouth. You may be educated regarding Giraffes, of that I have no doubt and NOT called into question. Your education regarding AAP has been though.

    • Freedom

Traci what bullshit have they put up with,do you mean the Giraffes,if so yes they have put up with a lot of bullshit,I don’t know I am used to seeing them roaming the plains of Africa. So I agree with you these poor animals have put up with a lot of bullshit.

      • bjkfinn

You obviously haven’t received any of the educational content that goes along with the live chat sessions and the APP Facebook page. Don’t condemn something you know nothing about.

        • Freedom

+bjkfinn:I happen to know much more than you give me credit for.I live in Africa, belong to an anti poaching unit for Rhino & Elephant,I have witnessed the horror that these animals face I have nursed some back to health, some sadly(most) don’t make it,but I would still rather see wildlife, including Giraffe roaming the plains of Africa, than to see them in a zoo or gawk at them in pens. What exactly do you know about Giraffe anyway, they are shy animals who separate from the herd to give birth. There is very little you or any educational chat session can teach me about the animals of Africa,so don’t condemn someone who has been there and seen it all.Not to mention lived the dream of interacting with wildlife for more years that you have yet to see.

          • bjkfinn

I didn’t say you didn’t know anything about giraffes. I said you don’t know much about the AAP. If you had been following them, you’d know how hard they are trying to educate the world to save these animals. AAP only accepts rescue animals. They are a hands-on care facility. None of their animals would survive if they were let out in the wild. So, if you think that would be better for the ones who are housed safely then I guess you don’t care as much for them as you claim. As for my age. You are being very presumptive guessing that I am younger than your “experience.”

          • bjkfinn

Oh, and to add to that, 1/3 of every donation they receive during this whole media blitz goes to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation, which, “Freedon” I assume you know all about since you live in Africa. Otherwise, I would inform you of its purpose.

        • Freedom

Please read my comment to Rita Yarlett, then perhaps you’ll understand my ignorance about APP,either way the only people who know all there is to know about wildlife are Africans.

For some reason this was deleted… but I really wish Julian would respond to this and if he cannot, he should retract this article. Youtube streaming is different from standard account monetization. For live streams, you can choose to have automatic pre-roll ads and you have the option of slating mid-roll ads. Can Julian please point out where AAP has inserted either pre-roll or mid-roll ads in their live streams? Because I promise it would be the #1 thing complained about by the posters that complain about everything. It’s simply not necessary when a company has a sponsor. You cannot make money by simply putting videos or live streams on Youtube, you MUST monetize them and go through the entire process. Youtube is NOT simply handing out checks just because people watched your video or stream. Again, please point out how AAP is making over $7K per day from ads on their live stream when there are NO ads on their live stream. If you are going to make comments like this, you should very easily be able to prove them. Along with the details on their contract with Toys R Us and how many “hundreds of thousands” of dollars they received through that sponsorship. And $10K-$50K on their Super Chat that runs for 1 hour, 5 days a week. Many people have taken the time to add up the totals and I haven’t seen a single night’s chat come close to your low end figure. So yes, this FOR PROFIT business is making money, it seems most followers are happy to see a small business make money because when the fame dies down, they still have over 200 animals to care for and a large park to run and expand. But again, in fairness to this business, you should backup your claims, or remove the article.
