Equitel Calling, SMS and Data/Internet Rates

Equity Bank recently launched Equitel, a new mobile carrier, in order to enhance their mobile money transfer products in relation to the banking products. The bank has a SIM card under the brand name Equitel. If you thought the charges for other products outside mobile money would be super cheap prices, I think you may be wrong. It turns out they are charging just as high as Safaricom. Here is the break down of the charges.

Calls to Equitel: KES 4 per minute

Calls to other network: KES 4 per minute

SMS to other Equitel: KES 1 per SMS

SMS to other network: KES 1 per SMS

Internet charges/Data charges: KES 4 per MB
