JetBlue Airways is a large American low cost airline and the seventh largest in the United States by passengers carried. It is headquartered in the Long Island City neighborhood of the New York City borough of Queen and its main base at JFK International Airport. It operates over 1,000 flights daily and serves 102 domestic and international network destinations such as Mexico, Central America and South America. A first officer with over 12 years of experience is able to make $144 – $177 per flight hour. The starting pay for a captain is $189 – $230 per flight hour while a first officer makes $88 per flight hour as a starting pay. Pilots have a monthly guarantee of 70 hours.
JetBlue pilots are paid an additional $13/hour of “night override pay” for flights between 0100-0500 base local time. They also get an international override pay of $5 for captains and $4 for first officers. Their per diem rates are $2.35 for domestic flights and $2.55 + $0.05 each year of contract for international flights. There is also a profit sharing scheme where pilots get 10%if the profit margin is 18% or less and 20% payout if the margin is over 18%.
