How Much Sitting Allowances Kenyan MCAs Are Paid

Being a Member Of County Assembly (MCA) in Kenya seems to be a lucrative venture for a number of people in government. Not only do they earn a fat basic salary but also very high sitting allowances.

According to the controller of budget, the highest paid MCAs in Kenya are those from Uasin Gishu with earnings of around Ksh312,339 per month. Their monthly salary is around Ksh124,800 and allowances of Ksh235,743 each. The lowest paying county in terms of sitting allowances is Vihiga where the MCAs earn an average of ksh12,225 per month.
