Kimberly Anne Scott became famous due to the fact that she was married to legendary rapper Eminem in the early days of his career and he has sang numerous songs about her. She was born on January 9, 1975 in Warren, Michigan to Kathleen Sluck. She had a twin sister named Dawn Scott who died in January 2016 due to an apparent drug overdose. When they were younger, the two ran away from home to escape their abusive, alcoholic stepfather.

Relationship With Eminem

Eminem and Kim are childhood sweethearts. They met when she was 13 and he was 15 at a house party. He later asked his mom is Scott could live with them. The two started their on and off relationship in 1989. However things were not very smooth over the years since the relationship got very toxic.

They welcomed the birth of their daughter Hailie Jade in 25th December 1995. Eminem decided to work harder so that his daughter would not have to grow up like he did.

Kim and Eminem first got married on 14th June 1999 but divorced in 2001. During an interview with Rolling Stone, Eminem said he would rather have a baby through his penis rather than get married again. However, he got married to Kim again in January 2006 but ended up filing for a divorce by April.

Other Daughter

Kim has another daughter by the name Whitney whom she got after having an affair with her ex-boyfriend Eric Hartter. Eminem now has full custody of Whitney due to Kim’s legal issues.

She has also been spotted kissing John Guerra, an acquaintance of theirs, which led to Eminem hitting him with a gun.

Life After Divorce

In 2003, Scott was arrested and charged with cocaine possession leading to a sentence of a month in jail for violating her probation. In 2015, she crashed her car into a pole while driving under the influence then later revealed that this was a suicide attempt. “It was intentional, I sat at the end of a road where I knew no one else but myself would get hurt. Yes, I drank, I took pills and I aimed for a pole,” Scott said, adding, “I never expected to make it out alive. Yeah, I can pay bills. Yeah, I can get my kids whatever they ask for and it’s great to see them happy. But you lose friends, you lose family, you have no one you can trust you can speak to.”

Kim is a freelance illustrator and designer who works in the world of children’s books, greeting cards, puzzles, licensing, caligraphy and others. She has illustrated ‘The Terrible Time Without Tilly’ and ‘Monty Wins the Cup’ for Egmont.
