Man Who Was Dumped By Wife For Being Poor Wins Ksh20M Jackpot

62 year old Joseph Onywera is a very happy man this week. He just became richer than 80% of the Kenyan population after winning a Jackpot of Ksh 20 million on Betway from a bet of just Ksh100 which was just almost all of the money he had left.

Mr Onywera’s life hasn’t been smooth for a long time. Back in 1996 her lost his first wife and became a single father. He got his 2nd wife who then left him in 2010 after an argument about his inability to provide for the family.

The new millionaire is a father of 9 kids and lives in Kapiyo village in Kano. He is a fisherman by profession. He lives a lonely life in an unfenced compound with mud houses.

Mr Onywera has no plans of reuniting with his former wife. He had this to say, “I just need some peace now and I can live on my own for now. Plans for his new millions? First he says he will give tithe to his Osaria Catholic Church which had helped him during his lonely times. The he will build rental houses in a plot he owns in Kisumu plus a house for himself. For his daily upkeep he will get himself a matatu which will keep him busy since he cannot do any hard jobs plus take care of his cows.
