Cole Bennett is a self titled YouTube channel created by a guy named Cole who is based out of Chicago, Illinois. He owns a music promotion and event coordination company known as Lyrical Lemonade, an underground rap media empire. This is a site he started in high school to cover his favorite Chicago rappers and post his first music videos. He has been able to generate an estimated net worth of $1.8 million just from his YouTube channel.
After Bennet graduated high school, he moved to Chicago to enroll at DePaul University where he majored in Digital Cinema. He dropped out mid-sophomore year and put all his efforts full-time on Lyrical Lemonade. His first high profile collaboration was animating Soulja Boy’s “Workin It”. He has now worked with artists like Lil Pump, SmokePurpp, Quavo and many others.
How Much Money Does Cole Bennett Earn On YouTube?
The channel has over 3 million subscribers as of 2018 and has accumulated over 1 billion views so far. It is able to get an average of 4.5 million views per day from different sources. This should generate an estimated revenue of around $8,000 a day ($3 million a year) from the ads that appear on the videos.
YouTubers get paid between $2 – $5 per 1000 monetized views after YouTube takes its cut. Monetized views range from 40% – 60% of the total views. All these are influenced by several factors like device played on, the location of the viewer, ad inventory, how many ads there are on a video, how many people skip the ads, ad engagement etc. The cost of an ad view is based on an auction between advertisers based on views. Advertisers have to bid a minimum of $0.01 per view.
There is also a program known as Google Preferred where deep-pocketed companies can target ads on the top 5% most popular content. The ad rates here are higher than normal. Apart from ads, YouTubers also generate extra from YouTube Red viewers who pay a monthly fee to view premium content on YouTube plus watch videos without ads. Here they get paid based on watch time on their videos. The longer the viewers watch their videos, the more money they earn.
