Supermarkets, restaurants and cafes in Nairobi should brace themselves for higher license charges thanks to a new proposed amendment to a county proposed law.
Supermarkets will pay Ksh20,000 for their food hygiene license up from Khs10,000. Large retail stores with more than 100 employees will pay Ksh60,000. Restaurants will pay Ksh15,000 while cafes will pay Ksh5,000.
