In the music industry, one of the ways to get your name out there is to do collabos with already established musicians if you think no one would be willing to listen to your own solo song. However, this isn’t done for free. You have to pay a certain amount depending on the artist you want a feature from.
During a recent interview with the Daily Nation, Octopizzo revealed the high amount he charges to feature in another artist’s song. To him, music is strictly business.
“I don’t do collabos for the love for the culture or for the game. I am in business, pure business. But it depends. Most upcoming artists that I have worked with have never paid me because I liked their energy and hunger. But when I’m charging, It’s $2,000 (Ksh200,000)”
