University students in Kenya took to the streets of Nairobi CBD and other towns for a peaceful demonstration to protest against the proposed fee increment. Education cabinet secretary Prof Jacob Kaimenyi has said the government has no such plans.
University of Nairobi student leader Babu Owino urged all university students all over the country to join them in the protest. He claims the government plans to increase fees for students who are under the regular programme from sh14,000 to sh28,000.
