Senior Al Shabaab Commander Surrenders

Sheil Mohamed Said Atom is a senior Al-Shabaab militant commander and he gave up himself to the Somali government last weekend after he quit violence in Somalia.

The defecting Islamist commander could not stand the violence and wrong teachings from the leader, Ahmed Abdi Godane (Al-Shabaab Emir)

The Somali government has offered amnesty to the Al-Shabaab member who decided to quit the group. Pro-radical media claim Atom was not a key leader int he militia group but just a mere ally.
