16 Songs About Children and Parenthood
For the vast majority of people, parenthood is mostly accompanied by a feeling of joy and excitement. Children can be one of the most fulfilling journeys one can have in their life. Here is a list of songs that talk about kids and describe what parenthood feels like.

This is the fourth track of the album Spectrum which was written by Steve Mac and Ed Sheeran. Generally, the message in it is to celebrate their kids assuring them of support and protection. All they have to do is ask for help when they need it instead of just suffering in silence.

This was a celebration by Jay Z when he had his first child (Blue Ivy Carter) with Beyonce. Blue’s vocals were featured in the song thus making her the youngest person to appear on the Billboard Top 200. Before conceiving her, Jay Z and Beyonce were rumored to have had significant problems conceiving. They even had a miscarriage at some point but the eventual birth of his daughter erased all the heartbreak he had.

Billy Joe gives an expression of the simple yet profound relationship between a parent and child in a bedtime lullaby. It was inspired by Alexa Ray Joel, his daughter by Christie Brinkle.

Celine Dion recorded the track when she took some time off to be with her son Rene-Charles Dion Angelil. She shares how her lifelong dream of becoming a parent has been fulfilled. She had a lot of trouble conceiving and her struggles with fertility were very public.

The song tells the story of a mother rediscovering what life is about through her daughter’s eyes. It peaked at #39 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #4 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs.

The song is appears as the final song on her third album, 25. In an interview with USA Today, she stated that it is about being a parent to her song Angelo who was born in 2012. She has tried to protect him from the consequences of her own fame.

The track is part of Britney’s sixth studio album Circus. She sings about her two sons Sean Preston and Jayden James. The message is about how Britney can’t see life without her children and wonders how she was able to overcome all the problems she faced without them.

The song is a tribute to her husband Mike and son Isaiah. It is part of her album Storyteller (2015).

The song is about her motherhood after she gave birth to her son Milan. She tells him that he is the one thing she got right in her life. He brings joy and sunshine in her life making it a fairytale.
