1. Billie Eilish – Ocean Eyes


This is Billie Eilish’s debut single when she was just 13 years old. It went viral after being posted on SoundCloud generating over a million plays within a short period of time. It was written by Finneas, her brother, who had a band at the time. When she sang it they both loved it hence Billie asked one of her teachers if he could choreograph a dance after she recorded it. They put it on SoundCloud so that her teacher could easily access it. Unexpectedly, it went viral overnight being shared all over the internet. At this point, Danny Ruckasin, her manager, reached out to her brother to help them out.

Lyrically, Billie sings about a person who she describes has ocean eyes to mean that they have a pull on her or she is drawn to them. She describes them as explosions using terms like “burn” and “flares”.
