A fake friend is one who associates themselves with you for all the wrong reasons such as money, popularity, getting something from you etc. The moment things get hard, them will disappear and never answer your cry for help. In the chorus, Bebe doesn’t care anymore when friends leave at this point because she is already used to it and she now prefers to focus on her career and money instead. Taylor Swift drew her inspiration from her experiences with fame and the media. She said she would throw extravagant parties and invite her friends to share her success. The media ended up turning against her.
8. Paramore – Grow Up
The song is about leaving behind friends with negative opinions. In the first verse, Hayley takes a shot at Josh and Zac Farro since they turned out to be “fake friends” and acted self-righteous by claiming that Hayley was big-timing them and had lost touch with her Christian roots.
