When asked to guess the size of a refugee camp, many would just think its a small area with maybe 1000-10000 people. Well Dadaab Refugee Camp is like a small city with over 500,000 people with thousands of them born there. This can easily make it the 3rd largest town in Kenya just before Kisumu.
UNHCR has planned to have a maximum number of 90,000 people but more Somalis kept pouring in. In the refugees you will find hospitals, schools, markets and even a branch of Kenyatta University. Just check out the photos.
