The race was at 4.30am Kenyan time which am sure many of the Kenyans were asleep. David Rudisha the reigning world champion did not disappoint at all.
At the start he was challenged by fellow Kenyan Alfred Kipketer who had started out with immense energy but got exhausted at the last stretch. Olympic 1500m champion Taoufik Makhloufi took silver and American Clayton Murphy took bronze.
