A couple of weeks ago, media personality and musician, Sheila Mwanyigha hanged her media presenter gloves after so many years on tv and radio, around 11 years.
So what has she been up to? Well she is tapping into one of her passion and that is helping the needy in the society. She recently visited Machakos School for the Deaf to give them some hearing aids.
Here is what she said:
“I travelled to Machakos with the team from Starkey Hearing Foundation. We went to the Machakos School for the Deaf to fit both primary and secondary school children with hearing aids.
Just seeing the children’s reaction to sound, is something I shall never forget. The wonder, the joy, their smiles, their voices! One little boy moved me. Ever since he had joined the school he had never spoken a word. One teacher also said that he was not only deaf, but coping with other challenges too. Still Owen, the team leader, reminded us all that God works miracles and the little boy was not going to miss out on hearing aids.”
